  I have been having severe pain in my lower back going into my right leg... So severe that at times I can't even bear weight on the leg. It turns out I have a bulging disc between L4/L5 and a ruptured disc between L5/S1 so I was referred to see Dr Livingston and he sent me to Dr Diamant for a epidural shot in my back so that I can start physical therapy to hopefully get my pain under control because neither one of us want me to have back surgery. I have good insurance through my employer yet Dr Diamant refused to see me unless I pay him over $450 upfront. He won't even schedule me to come in. That is what I call extortion.

  His staff are also very polite and knowledgeable. I think the reason the good doctor is chronically behind schedule (waited over an hour in the room after 20 minutes in the waiting room at my last visit) is that once he's there, he listens, thinks, and then discusses what may be causing the problem, how to tell, etc. I may not like the wait, but I really like it that when I leave I know what the plan is, why it's the plan, and what to expect when the plan is put in action. It doesn't hurt that he has 3 of the MOST _COMFORTABLE_ waiting room rocking chairs ever. I try to be an honest man, but it's a good thing I don't have access to that place at night with nobody around or the Doc might be missing a few chairs the next day. :-)
